    The class will focus on strengthening and enhancing core strength, weight placement, alignment, and other muscle groups to specific cater for dance technique.

It emphasises freestyle movement, rhythm, and personal expression, incorporating styles like breaking, popping, locking, and krumping. Known for its dynamic energy, isolations, and connection to hip-hop music.

  • POINTE

    One of the most iconic elements of ballet dancing. Pointe work requires specialised pointe shoes, in which ballerinas dance on the tips of fully extended feet. The aim of pointe dancing is to look weightless, poised and graceful, but don’t be deceived – this style of dancing is not easy and requires years of training.

  • This class is for dancers of all abilities aged 55+. It is a gentle technique-focused ballet class with minimum forward bends and no jumps or hops.

LEVELS

  • A level specifically for those with less than six weeks or no prior dance experience in a similar style. This level focuses on basic technique and movement. The intent is to provide you with a basic dance vocabulary that you can build upon when you are ready to move into your first Beginner class.

  • Beginner classes assume a basic understanding of terminology and movement, and focus on technique, coordination and strength to help students become more proficient in their movement.

    At the beginner level, students will take time to learn and understand movements and sequences. Students are learning correct arm and foot placements and choreography will be simple and slow-paced.

  • Advanced Beginner classes aim to help you transition up to the elementary level.

    Students will continue to execute the movements and expression / artistry learnt in Beginner Ballet, and begin working at a faster pace particularly for common sequences and basic movements. Students are confident with arm and foot placements at the barre and show correct turnout, pointed feet, and an understanding of ballet terminology.

  • Suitable for those with two to four years of recent ballet experience, or five to seven years training from earlier days, in a similar style. You will have a good grasp on your beginner technique and be able to demonstrate good body awareness.

    Elementary classes focus on learning more complex, quicker and bigger movements, with longer exercises. Strength building remains an important component of class. You will also begin to explore your dance artistry.

  • Suitable for dancers with three or more years of recent experience. These classes will move at a moderate pace and expect you to be able to pick up most sequences and choreography quickly.

    You will begin exploring advanced movements and should have a good sense of body awareness.

  • Advanced classes are fast-paced and suitable for dancers with four or more years recent experience.

    Dancers should be able to demonstrate excellent body awareness and knowledge of dance terminology. This level requires you to have the technique, coordination and strength to execute longer and more complex movement combinations. You will learn advanced technique, steps and combinations, and particular attention is given to dance artistry and polish.

  • This class is open to all levels and suitable for anyone wanting to give it a go.

    If you’re a beginner, come try something fun and new. If you’re more advanced, take the opportunity to push your performance skills and practice your technique.
