THE NUTCRACKER IN JULY!
Welcome (and welcome back)!
Thank you for your interest in Canberra’s community ballet production of The Nutcracker In July. Returning due to popularity, The Nutcracker in July is a production for adult dancers (16+), across all local studios, regardless of their level or background.
The Nutcracker In July was established in 2024 to begin an annual tradition for years to come. Three sold-out ballet performances proved to be a huge success with our fellow Canberrans:
Young children were exposed to ballet (some for the first time!) with an accessible show, shortened from the full-length ballet. Activities during the interval helped to foster a love of the arts like when many little ones met one of the principal dancers!
Lovers of ballet and theatre had a local opportunity to attend a professional-quality production and view Canberra’s incredible talent!
Local businesses had an opportunity to connect a new audience with their services as well as supporting our dancers through sponsorship.
At its core, this was a community event offering local ballet dancers a local opportunity to perform in a professional-quality narrative ballet and we are so happy to offer it again in 2025! We hope to provide a Cast A & B for Principal Roles as well as perform two weekends of shows (six shows total)!
Auditions are planned to be held in December 2024. Information will be coming out shortly - so watch this space!
